Girl Scouts Badge Workshops

7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens

Does your teen need motivation to live up to their full potential? Or does your teen display leadership abilities and need help polishing up their skills? Register today for this inspirational class! This course teaches youth to take responsibility for their actions, prioritize, communicate and listen effectively, have a positive attitude, work well with others, and more!  Ages 12+

Competitive Robotics Team

Competitive Robotics Team

Robotics club is for children in grades 3-8 who have an interest in computers, technology, engineering, math, or science. Students will have fun learning to program, build, and operate robots as preparation for local competitions. Age group: Grades 3-5, 6-8

Two sessions available: 

  • Saturdays, January 11 - February 11, 10am-12:30pm (competition on Feb 11th)
  • Saturdays, March 18 - April 29, 10am-12pm (competition on April 29)


Scripps National Spelling Bee Qualifying Team

Learn how to spell hundreds of words!  Learn the origin of words, definitions, improve literacy skills and academic performance. All students will receive a certificate of achievement upon successfully meeting spelling goals. The top performing student will receive a trophy and participate in the Regional Spelling Bee, with hopes of continuing to the Scripps National Spelling Bee.

Super Science Saturdays

Would you like to do fun and educational science experiments to explore the world around you? Then Super Science Saturdays are for you! Programs are designed to get children excited about learning by engaging in hands on, interactive activities. A variety of subjects will be explored. Register early. Space is limited.

Age group: Grades k-5

Schedule:  Under the Sea: Saturdays, December 3, 10, 17, 10am-11:30am, LSU-S

Shreve Island Intersession Program

Young Scholars STEM Intersession Programs are uniquely designed to be fun and educational while introducing children to a variety of science, technology, engineering, and math concepts. We combine life science, medical science, forensic science, environmental science, and a host of other subjects into a week loaded with fun!

Programs are held at Shreve Island in October 2016, February 2017, and May 2017.
